The Town of La Plata fiscal year Begins July 1 and ends June 30. Financial Statements with Independent Auditors' Reports are prepared annually based on the Town of La Plata fiscal year.
The Independent Audit Reports are conducted for the purpose of forming an opinion on the financial statements that collectively comprise the Town of La Plata, Maryland's basic financial statements as a whole. The supplementary information as listed in the table of contents is presented for purposes of additional analysis and is not a required part of the basic financial statements.
The discussion and analysis is intended to serve as an introduction to the Town's basic financial statements. The Town's basic financial statements are comprised of three components: 1) government-wide statements, 2) fund statements, and 3) notes to the financial statements. The report also contains other supplementary information in addition to the basic financial statements themselves.
