Public Space Improvement Grant

PollinatorsThe Beautification Commission implemented the Beautification Commission Grant Program to encourage residents, Homeowners' Associations, school groups, Scout and youth groups, civic organizations, businesses, and other community members to help beautify our town.

Eligible Projects

Any project that will improve the appearance or cleanliness or reduce current maintenance needs of a public space in the Town of La Plata, with a special emphasis on community cleanups, community gardens, native plantings, and public art

Grant Amounts

  • Public Art Project (CB Zone) - Up to a 50% funding match, based on available funds.
  • Downtown Shingle Sign Project (CB Zone) - Up to $200
  • General Beautification, Community Gardens, and Cleanup Projects - Up to $500
  • Native Plantings/Pollinator Gardens - Up to $700
